CARDIFF CITY DISABLED SUPPORTERS ASSOCIATION (CCFCDSA)

Cardiff City have a dedicated fans group that reformed a committee a few years back in order to ensure the disabled fans that follow the club get a voice. If you have something you'd like to raise, contact the CCDSA.

Who we are and what we do

The Cardiff City Disabled Supporters Club has been instrumental with working alongside the club to benefit fans with all types of disability.

The DSA was originally setup 25 years ago and was fundamental in the development of the CCS stadium for disabled fans.

Through the Pandemic over the past  two years we have spent countless hours working not only with the Club Disability Access Officer but engaging with the club, CCFC Foundation, FAW, Level Playing Fields, Football Supporters Association and Cymru Disabled Supporters Association on how best to improve match day experience for disabled fans.

Due to this the updated Sensory room at the stadium has been a huge success, children and adults with autistic and sensory issues have attended football for the first time at both for club and international football, a fantastic achievement for the club, Foundation and ourselves.

In 2020 Will Vaulks became our first Player DSA Ambassador and attends our meetings and helps promote the DSA. (

In 2022 Will  left the club and he goes with all our best wishes for the future, he will be missed but to succeed Will, Club Captain Joe Ralls has kindly offered to take on the role. We look forward to working with Mark in 2022 /2023 (Pic left)

What do we hope to achieve in the next 2 years?

  • We have worked closely with CCFC Foundation and are proud to announce our first partnership with Llandough Hospital Neuro Rehabilitation Unit. We will be identifying four games where clients of the unit will be able to use the CCFC Sensory room which we will sponsor those games.

  • For 2022 we are promoting Hidden Disabilities, so many people still think that unless you are in a wheelchair you are not disabled. 96% of illnesses are not visible

  • We have new Accessibility Lanyards to help you get served as a priority at the Compass bars / outlets within the stadium. These are available upon request only ccfcdsa@gmail.com

  • Our away trip to Reading last season was a major success. How do we beat that? With the kind support of Cardiff City Supporters Club, membership fee's will be waived for DSA members wishing to travel to one away game of their choice. Please let us know in advance what game you would like to attend

  • Raise Funds for events. We have bucket hats for sale via social media / email

  • Coffee afternoon with Joe Ralls on Thursday 27th October @ CCS 3.00pm

Education is key in this area, so we are looking at ways to promote this within CCS at both League and International games (working alongside Cymru DSA)

  • More interaction with the club DAO on specialised DSA events

  • Support and work with the Cardiff City Foundation on all Equality issues

  • Membership – Increase the DSA membership at CCFC, making fans aware that we are here and ready to support fan’s with any type of disability and not forgetting the carer’s and family who are all welcome to join as they sometimes forgotten.

  • Further enhance the match day experience for all disabled fans

  • Match Day Program information on the DSA

During the construction of the new stadium CCFCDSA were actively involved and put many suggestions into the design of the stadiums which the benefits for disabled supporters can now be seen throughout the stadium.
Recently the stadium has undergone some changes in increased capacity and some disabled spaces were lost in certain areas but replaced in new areas and we have not lost any. We have also been given the use of a rest room by the club, this is based between the Grandstand and Canton stand. This is of great benefit to fans in that area of the stadium.
Keep following this website for regular news letters that we will produce in order to keep our members up to date with goings on at the football club.

SUPPORTING AN ACCESSIBLE STADIUM

Two of our great supporters of the DSA, Club Captain Sean Morrison, who throughout Covid got members of the team to send messages of thanks and birthdays to our members.

Sean is standing alongside our club Doctor Len Nokes, who is the longest serving member of the Cardiff City team. Doc is very pro-active with the committee and we are privileged to have him on board as President of the DSA.

Available to order on twitter  @TerranceBadger
